VI Systems shows VCSEL TOSA/ROSA for 25G Ethernet transceiver

VI Systems will present a set of transmitter and receiver optical subassemblies (TOSA/ROSA) and the related building blocks for the next generation of 25 Gbit/s Ethernet short reach optical transceivers for on board assemblies or in a SFP28 form factor. The company will display the components scalable to 50 Gbit/s at the largest global conference and exposition for optical communications and networking professionals (OFC) Mar 24-26, 2015, Los Angeles, CA, USA.

BERLIN, Germany, March 20, 2015

VI Systems GmbH will present the 25 Gbit/s transmitter optical subassembly (TOSA) with part number T25-850 and receiver optical subassembly (ROSA) with part number R25-850 for new generation of short reach 25 Gbit/s Ethernet optical receivers in a high performance small form factor (SFP28) package. The transmitter component features a built-in vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) driver combined with a proprietary 850nm VCSEL chip. The receiver component incorporates a transimpedance amplifier chip combined with 700-890nm PIN photodetector chip. The mechanical dimensions in millimeter are 6 x 6 x 9 (width x height x length). The power consumption of each component is specified with less than 90mW.

Visit VI Systems at the OFC in booth #2637 in Los Angeles, CA from Mar 24-26, 2015.
