VI Systems launches an ultra-high speed multimode fiber coupled photodetector module for test application which use non-return-to-zero (NRZ) modulation or pulse amplitude modulation format (PAM).
VI Systems GmbH introduces the fiber coupled photodetector module D50-1300M for data rates of up to 50 Gbit/s designed for non-return-to-zero (NRZ) modulation format or pulse amplitude modulation format (PAM). The module is designed for an input wavelength range from 840 nm to 1550 nm. The module features a V-connector for the electrical output signal and for the optical input a 50/125 multi mode fiber which is terminated with a standard FC/PC connector. The picture below shows the module and the optical eye diagram at 50 Gbit/s without external amplification.
The D50-1300M photodetector module is designed for test setups aiming at the development of advanced short reach optical interconnects. The module footprint size is 62.5 mm x 16.7 mm. The height of the module is specified as 8 mm. The fiber cable length is typically 1 meter.
